Joining a team!

It's this time of year that I write about partnerships, there is no pressure to join one but with a lot of crew hoping to sail it is something that one might think about...

We are almost ready to sail but just in case you feel you're missing out - why don't you find out about cost sharing in a boat, that way you needn't sit on the side lines waiting for a phone call!

There are lots of ways to enjoy sailing an XOD, you can be a floating crew, called upon when there's a crew down, or you can join a partnership/syndicate or whatever other word you might have heard to describe joining a team on an individual boat. Some as few as 2 or 3 or as many as 8-10. Its up to you, subject to the clubs membership rules, which allow 5 guest visits in any case.

You don't have to own a boat or part own a boat, you can just help with the running costs. Most run an annual arrangement so you can either continue or swap boats. Or you can buy a boat with some friends and all buck in together.

Owning or sharing a boat and sailing with new friends- or old is fun and needn't cost the earth - in fact its very affordable, especially if there are several of you. Boat prices are extremely reasonable and we can always point you in the direction of a good one.

Please get in touch if you have any thoughts on this.
